A group of Malezi Centre parents who launched a small café to work out of poverty.
The first step after reaching their savings target was to receive business training on how to bake and sell cakes for the local market.
After locating a space, MPI launched their café early in 2016.

Branding and beautifying the café.
MPI expanded their menu in 2017 and are now turning a monthly profit.
MPI's dream is to grow the Upendo Café to the point where each member has enough money to subsist on. Though still far from the goal, they have taken the hardest first steps and are well underway. Many thanks to the LivingSmile supporters who helped them get this far.
